Settimio Benedusi

Born in Imperia in 1962 under the Gemini star sign, viscerally curious and armed with an unbreakable determination, at only 20 years of age he left the classical studies and moved to Milan with the only objective of becoming a professional photographer. After a strenuous start, first as an assistant and then as a freelancer, he manages since the beginning to publish on major magazines as well as publishing his first commercial works.
The work he made for the major publishing houses (Mondadori, Rizzoli, Rusconi, CondèNast etc.) together with his passion for writing allow him to join the journalist guild of the Lombardy region.
His great communication capabilities make him open one of the first blogs in Italy accessible from his personal website that since 2003 it boasts an extremely loyal readership.
In a short period of time two more blogs follow: one on the website of the Corriere della Sera, the most important italian newspaper, and another on the Max/Rcs website for his column Max casting.
For seven consecutive years he participates as the only italian photographer on the famous swimsuit magazine Sports Illustrated.
He portrays the italian cremè de la cremè from Silvio Berlusconi to Giorgio Armani, going through Gianfranco Ferrè, the Missoni spouses, Alberta Ferretti only to mention a few.
His frenetic positivity takes him to extend his activity way beyond the simple profession to teaching at the Italian Institute of Photography, holding a workshop at the very highly regarded TPW. Doing exhibitions (in the dark!), holding conferences in numerous as well as distinguished events such as Fotografica at Spazio Forma in Milan, Gecko Festival etc. And participating at television programs.
