[question]Congratulation Neil, you won week #6 of our Model of the Week Contest with 969 votes (when we stopped to count at 10pm GMT), how do you feel?[/question]
[answer]I feel amazing I’m so so pleased that I won, I’m still buzzing now! It was such an intense last final few hours when Saoro and I were neck and neck on votes but I’m so happy that everyone supported me during this competition and helped me fly the flag for the UK, it’s all been pretty overwhelming![/answer]
[question]It has been amazing between Saoro and you, how did you live the last 2 days of the contest?[/question]
[answer]Well Friday I was modelling all day on a clothing shoot so I only found out at lunchtime that Saoro had taken the lead, but I still had to wait until I was home Friday evening before I could check the votes online. On Saturday I spent most of my time on the phone and on the computer to keep updated on the competition, and I had people calling and emailing me all day so it was a pretty tense Saturday.[/answer]
[question]With 969 votes in less than 6 days, it seems people like you and like your pictures. Do you want to say something to them?[/question]
[answer]Well I’m really proud of the pictures in my portfolio so I’m ecstatic that people have shown appreciation for my modelling work and have taken the time to vote for me to show their support. I have to say I couldn’t have done it without all the help of my family and friends, they really supported me during the competition. They asked their friends, work colleagues and even their neighbours to vote! Modelling means the world to me so I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone… you have all helped me to achieve something very special and means a lot to me and my modelling career![/answer]
[question]What did you do so far as a model, what brands did you work for?[/question]
[answer]So far in my career I’ve had the pleasure of working with some great clients, ranging from clothing labels like Police Jeans, Le Shark, Trespass, The Cuckoos Nest and Seventyseven to Sports brands including Umbro, Raleigh Mountain bikes and Ashmei Performance Running Apparel. I’ve also modelled for hotels, bridal stores, TV shopping channels (QVC) and even bed companies.[/answer]
[question]Are you a full-time model? Do you have other activities on the side?[/question]
[answer]Yes this is my full-time job and I love it! When I’m not modelling you’ll find me in the gym training hard or playing sports…[/answer]
[question]We will send your publication and interview to thousands of professionals of the fashion and advertising industry this week, what would you like them to know about you?[/question]
[answer]I think they’ll see from my portfolio online at www.neilovenell.com that I’m an experienced and diverse model, but it’s also important for them to know that I’m a consummate professional. I’m a complete perfectionist so I work closely with the brands and clients I model for to understand what they’re trying to achieve from a model shoot then I keep shooting and shooting with them until they’re 100% satisfied with the pictures they’ve captured.[/answer]
[question]You are the third male Model of the Week and so far the one with the most votes. Are you confident for the final? (The male models final will take place from the 14th to 20th of May)[/question]
[answer]I didn’t actually realise until the competition was over that I’d received more votes than any of the previous winners so that’s certainly encouraging and has shown me that people clearly like my work, which is amazing. When it comes to the final anything can happen, there’ll be lots of people voting from around the globe so hopefully those people will see me as the strongest model and vote for me : )[/answer]
[question]The Winner will fly to Cannes, French Riviera to shoot an editorial in a wonderful house from the 11th till the 14th of June. Have you ever been to Cannes? Are you excited?[/question]
[answer]I’ve not been to Cannes before but I’ve heard it’s beautiful so the prospect of travelling there for a shoot is very exciting indeed.[/answer]
[question]Apart from modelling, what do you like to do, any hobbies?[/question]
[answer]Aside from my modelling I spend lots of time in the gym training and playing sports like football, tennis, and basketball. I’m a big film fan so I enjoy watching films and relaxing with my friends when I can. I also love Skiing but don’t get the chance to go very often.[/answer]
[question]What do you like to wear? Where do you like to hang out? What kind of music are you listening? What is your favourite movie?[/question]
[answer]I like to wear urban streetwear style clothing predominantly. I enjoy going to bars and clubs to socialise with my friends, as well as going to the cinema. I have an eclectic taste in music, I like listening to Dance, RnB, HipHop and commercial music. I have a few favourite films but the one that springs to mind is ‘Taken’ I’ve seen that 5 or 6 times – Amazing film![/answer]
