A. Belt.
A medium to narrow, good leather or skin belt is best.
º Have a min of 2 belts (black and brown)
º The color of business’s belt SHOULD be black, brown or navy!
º Avoid wearing large buckles or casual belt in business.
Tips: Coordinate the color of your belt with the same color of your shoes. (That means if wearing a brown belt, the color of your shoes should be brown as well)

B. Cravats and ties.
Avoid wearing animal’s figures on the ties.
º Windsor and half Windsor ways of tying your tie.
C. Jewelry & watch.
º Avoid wearing calculators, diving or funny watches as they are considerate casual.
º Avoid wearing bangles, bracelets, big rings or big chains.
º Watch color should be gold, silver or neutral.

D. Coat, raincoat, winter jacket.
º the color should be neutral such as beige, black, navy, grey, tan or tope.

Recommended brands for business coat: Burberrys, Polo, and Ralf Lauren.

E. Glasses.
! Knowing your skin, hair and eye color you will be able to choose the best glasses color to enhance your face! Avoid trendy and pastels colors unless you are in the creative department! Choose classical neutral colors or metals.

º It should be a complement of your face shape.
º If you have a long nose: Wear a low bridge -> this will visually shorten your long nose.
º If you have a short nose: wear a high bridge -> this will visually lengthen a short nose.
º Avoid wearing dark glasses because it is quiet irritant and disconcerting not seeing eyes of the interlocutor.

 

F. Shoes.

º You should have a minimum of 3 pairs (brown, black and other of the color of your choice)
º You should have pair of shoes of new buck and leather.
º Mid tone to darker shoes are more appropriate than light color shoes.
º Wear lace-ups or dressy slip-on for business.
º Ensure that your shoes are heeled and soled when necessary.
º Ensure that your shoes are clean, polished and the laces are not frayed.
º Thinner soles will give you dressy look and more formal & professional.

G. Others characteristics.
º Have your hands cared with regular manicure.
º Have your hair cut clean, well trimmed and short or medium size.
º clean-up your hair in nose and ears.
º Preferably no moustache or beard. But in case you do, keep it well trimmed and clean
º Take care of your appearance, your clothes and complements and avoid:
– Too strong after-shave and cologne.
– Clothes that are pulled, frayed, faded or not pressed.
– Dirt and neck staining on collars
– Soiled ties.
– Tie finishing above the belt.
– Belt under stomach.
– Trousers too short and legs showing between shoe and trouser.
– Unpolished shoes and worn down shoe heels.
– Bulging pockets and missing buttons.
– Underarm staining.
