Right after completing his communication design studies Dirk started working as a freelance art director. It was then that he realized that his true passion was photography, so he picked up and moved to New York. There he became the assistant to David LaChapelle for nearly three years before he continued to work as freelance assistant for Peter Lindbergh, Albert Watson and Patrick Demarchelier among others for another two years.
After this education on the highest level he is now working behind the camera himself. Doing that, he always has the same high expectations in his work as he
has learned from his teachers. Dirk’s work has been published in magazines like Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Vanity Fair and Cosmopolitan. His commercial clients include Pantene Pro V, Maybelline NY, Astor and Wella.
