I’m Alistair. I started modeling about 4 years ago in Wellington, New Zealand, I got my first big break in 2010 after being selected for a charity underwear show (proceeds going towards neonatal babies) after that the same guys did another underwear show at Wellington’s Trentham race day (for a ladies day out event) 2011. I kept busy throughout 2011 doing catwalk (mostly charity) shows, Love to Christchurch, after the city was destroyed by earthquakes, a show called “the young and restless” for up and coming Wellington designers- which was probably one of my favorite. I then met a group called Miromoda who are about indigenous fashion and designers and have formed a tight bond with them. I walked for Miromoda at NZFW in 2011. During a Miromoda show I was told about a facebook competition Rodd&Gunns younger label (R&G) were holding, looking for a new face for their brand. I entered the competition and didn’t think much more of it. 2 days before the winner was to be announced at the launch of their High street store in Auckland I found out I was a finalist, quickly (and very luckily) got up to Auckland and jointly won. Since then I’ve done 2 seasons with R&G, the first in Turkey (which was part of the prize of winning) and the second which is just being released. I now am a partner in an agency called Ataahua Avenue (meaning beautiful media) and hoping for big things for the future. Casting for Wellington fashion week on Sunday then onto NZFW hopefully for a second year.
