Now based in Sydney Emily models full-time domestically and internationally always bringing a fun and positive attitude to work. [question]Congratulations Emily, you got an amazing score with almost 2000 votes after an amazing final. How do you feel right now? [/question]
[answer] I feel so overjoyed and thankful to all of my voters who supported me. It really means a lot that there was such a large amount of people taking time out of their day to support me in my aspirations.[/answer]
[question]You are our new Model of the Week and will be in the big final in May. Ready to win the trip to Cannes? Does French Riviera sound like a dream for you? [/question]
[answer] It would be so surreal that I would have to pinch myself to make sure I’m not dreaming! I am INCREDIBLY excited about the prize! To shoot in the South of France has been a goal of mine since I first began modelling. I have been fortunate enough to have travelled to Cannes for the film festival in 2009 and I was blown away by how beautiful it is there [/answer]
[question]You are the first model from New Zealand classified to the big Final. Does this make you feel prouder? [/question]
[answer] I’m proud of my entire heritage and being a very multi-cultural person in general, I feel privileged to be up against cultures from all over the world [/answer]
[question]You were born in Auckland, New Zealand in the early 90′s to a Tongan/German mother and Irish/Spanish father, now you live in Sydney, Australia. Apart from New Zealand do you feel more like an Australian, Spanish, Irish, German or Tongan girl?[/question]
[answer] That’s a good question! I would have to say I feel more Australian as I have spent the majority of my life here and growing up through my teens in Australia, I feel a close connection to it. That said I have visited Ireland, Spain, Tonga and Germany and I can definitely feel a portion of each come through my personality and traits at times [/answer]
[question]What are the latest brands you worked with? [/question]
[answer] I recently shot the campaign for Element (an Australian fashion store) at a water-side mansion on the Gold Coast which was a lot of fun but extremely hot which made it a tough shoot, but very rewarding as I am so happy with the photos! Last week I modelled Karen Willis Holmes Bridal gowns in a segment on Mornings, which is a weekday show on Australian National Television, I absolutely loved my dress and it gave me ideas for the future! [/answer]
[question]What photographers would you love to work with? What are the best photographers you have already worked with? [/question]
[answer] That is such a tough question as there have been so many! I’d love to work with Nicole Bentley, she is a regular editorial and cover photographer for Australian Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and Marie Claire. Nicole is from Perth, Western Australia which is where I grew up. When I was 14 she approached me after a catwalk show and told me that I was going to go far in the industry and to make sure I stick it out, I’ve always remembered that as I respect her and admire her a great deal. More photographers that I’d love to work with are Gavin O’neill, Ed Purnomo, Elvis Di Fazio, Darren Alex Mcdonald, Russell James, Jody Pachniuk, Sebastian Kriete, Steven Chee and many more! Some of my favourite photographers that I have worked with thus far have been Nyree Mackenzie, she was a top model in the nineties and noughties which has given her empathy and an intuition on how a model is feeling, and the best way to bring out the model’s strengths. All of her work is extremely beautiful and she is so talented at mixing in creative direction with photography and illustration. Thom Kerr, I have shot with him twice, he shot my first test shoot in Perth and again last year, clients always admire his work in my book and I feel he knows exactly how to hone in on each models best features. Zanita Morgan formally known as Zanita Whittington, she has a tremendously talented and creative mind and excels in all that she chooses to do which includes; styling, photography, modelling and her massively successful blog -http://zanitazanita.blogspot.com.au/ [/answer]
[question]Describe a typical day in the life of Model Emily? [/question]
[answer] I start every morning by drinking hot water with a squeeze of organic lemon; this has many health benefits such as the elimination of harmful wastes and toxins in the digestive system promoting healthy skin and more energy! A typical breakfast consists of organic quinoa porridge with stewed berries & figs, topped with pea protein, LSA and Chia seeds. I make sure my model bag is packed with the essentials; nude underwear, heels, make up basics, portfolio & snacks (almonds, protein bar, piece of fruit). The night before I write out all the addresses of where I need to go so that I can look them up easily on my iPhone’s google maps function, I would be lost without it! Then I head to wherever it is I need to go, whether that be castings or a shoot. Each day is super exciting meeting talented people and filled with ample opportunities that I am extremely grateful for!. [/answer]
[question]What kind of sport do you practice? Are you a competitive girl? [/question]
[answer] I used to be quite competitive! I did athletics, swimming & tennis but as I got into modelling, I strayed away from all of that. I still take part in those sports as a means of exercise and enjoyment but I no longer compete. In terms of watching sport and attending games I’m a mad rugby supporter and love the adrenaline that comes with watching each game! A few days ago I was watching it at the gym and almost fell off the treadmill when my team scored a try! Bit of an embarrassing moment just quietly.. [/answer]
[question]What books, movies and music do you like the most? [/question]
[answer] I love reading and learning about health and nutrition, the ways in which the human body works and how to improve it so that you can be your best self fascinates me! James Duigan is the author behind my favourite health book, the Clean & Lean Diet. He and the team at Bodyism are incredible at what they do, dedicating their lives to encourage people to lead healthy and happy lives. Also I enjoy reading about the power of maintaining a positive outlook on life, being in the fashion industry one can often be faced with much rejection and this helps get me through those times that I might be feeling a bit down. Non-Fiction crime novels are also a favourite and James Patterson takes the cake as my favourite crime novelist. Favourite Movies- The Iron Lady, The September Issue, An Inconvenient Truth, Blood Diamond, Taken and The Devil Wears Prada. Music- I absolutely love music and enjoy listening to anything I can dance to, DJs, Hip Hop and Mash-Ups take up the majority of my play lists. [/answer]
[question]Do you want to say something to all the people who voted and supported you?[/question]
