After the description we have made in our article “Hungry?” about the succulent traditional dishes you’ll find in the city of Barcelona it makes sense to give you recommendations of famous places and high quality to attend to and enjoy some Catalan food.

Can Culleretes
Recognized by the Guinness World Record as the oldest restaurant in Catalonia and the second in Spain after El Botin in Madrid it was founded in 1786 counting today with 226 years of existence.
It is located in the Gothic Quarter and is very busy so it is preferable to book in advance. The restaurant is decorated tavern-like and conservative way. You can find good references about the attention of the staff who will offer you Catalan specialties based on seafood as well as its famous cannelloni.
Els Quatre Gats
A place that is worth attending to due to the intellectuals meetings that were held within its walls with people like Picasso, Gaudí, Isaac Albéniz, among others its decoration filled with historical photos and bohemian atmosphere will transport you to the Golden time of modernism and Le Chat Noir of Paris.
It is located in the center of Barcelona waiting for you to taste the Catalan food offered on their menu. Curious fact, the characters that are riding tándem on a painting are the owner of the establishment, Pere Romeu i Borràs and the painter Ramon Casas who did it as a gift to the place. The one in the restaurant is a copy. The original is at the National Museum of Catalonia´s Art (MNAC).
Cerveceria Catalana
A popular place for tourists it is the typical Catalan food restaurant to take your visits. An aesthetically modern and contemporary ambient with three types of environments: the terrace, the bar area and tables. If you have not booked, you will be placed on a waiting list that is worth taking for the quality of their dishes. If you’re lucky, you’ll wait in the bar sipping some tapas until the time you get moved to your table.
It is located next to Rambla Catalonia, so it is not difficult to arrive there. The attention is very fast so the escalivada with goat cheese and pa amb tomàquet along with the sangría with cava will arrive soon.
