Last may 27th & 28th will took place the 16th edition of the Denim Première Vision in the city of Barcelona.
With more tan 4.000 visitors, being 73% international, the 3rd edition taking place in Barcelona had a great success strengthening once again as one of the largest tradefairs dedicated to profesionals of the denim world.
From manufacturers offering the last trends on finishings and performance on fabrics to the buyers seeking of the best raw material for the making of denim pieces of bog brands to also designers in search of inspiration for their last collection. Everyone was looking for the innovations and trends the fair offered on its 97 exhibitors.
Not Just Fashion Magazine had the chance to speak with some of them as well as professionals from the fashion industry.
Absolute Denim, one of the largest denim manufacturers that originated in Bangkok, Thailand, is a supplier for a lot of european and american brands. According to its Managing Director, Vichai Phromvanich, the trend is to “got back to basics” as the usage of the well-known indigo blue that distinguishes the blue jean. On the other hand, they have been receiving lots of demand of stretch fabrics with higher performance.
This last feature was also highlighted by Samuel Trotman, Associate Denim Editor for WGSN, a fashion trend forecasting agency with offices in different countries of the world. Samuel said that “in spite trends depend on what each market is looking for you can notice technical fabrics with high performance and even 70`s styles that are each day more present on retailers and street styles”. From its point of view, the fabrics presented by Isko with the use of sashiko along with denim fabric showing a japanese inspiration are one of the highlights of the event.
Also, we spoke with one of the most important exhibitors of the tradefair who offered seminars related to its dying techonology with natural products in favor of the environment and used on its first collection for this year under the name of Vegan Denim. Orta Anadolu is a denim manufacturer company that has focused its efforts in the last years to the developing of sustainable methodologies. One of the company managers stated “We are very excited with Vegan Denim since Orta has always been conscious about the environment and this collection is a big step regarding this subject. We expect other companies to sum up to this change where we have been seing the switch towards it mainly in Europe. Especially on the scandinavian region”. Lastly he added, “We love our planet. Let`s make everything vegan”.
